Awesome article. Gave an almost in-depth analysis of where silverlight stands right now. And i absolutely agree with your point regarding designers.

Believe it or not some of the designers i know, they dont even know that silverlight exists.

Adobe has been in this industry for so long, they have a huge community and great tools for designers. Microsoft really needs to close this gap otherwise silverlight might not succeed. Its future depends how quickly it can make a good impression on designers who are right now addicted with adobe's flash/flex.

And all that talk of microsoft eliminating adobe flex is total rubbish.

Anyways, wonderful article.

Cheers

I've been playing around with Silverlight 1.1 and really like being able to code in C# since that is my main language. I am not a designer and can't provide any feedback there but from a development standpoint having worked in ActionScript versus C# I would much rather work with C#. What we need are some budding designers who don't have the years of Flash to start out in Silverlight.

Great post, you have confirmed what I already suspected, that my company should wait a while longer before seriously undertaking a project in silverlight.

Thank you so much for the great analysis. It's feedback like this that will help my company (Microsoft) deliver better products in the long run. Thanks again for the motivation!
